Situated at an altitude of about 9,000 ft from the sea level , Yusmarg is an hours drive from Srinagar.It is located at a distance of 47 km from Srinagar in the Badgam district of Jammu &Kashmir. It is a perfect place for day’s outing or for a short walk along the mighty Doodh Ganga River. Yusmarg is also a perfect base for trekking to the mountains like Trata Kutti and Sang Safed. A drive from Srinagar to Yusmarg takes the visitors to lush pastures, dense pine forest and a series of impressive mountain ranges.

Gulmarg literally means the “Meadows of flowers” is located at a distance of 60 km from Srinagar. It is a major attraction among the visitors due to the scenic beauty of the Himalayan Mountains in the backdrop. Gulmarg Gandola, the highest cable car is the major attraction among the visitors. Tourists can enjoy horse riding in the strawberry valley, leopards valley up to Kongdori to see the frozen lake o Al-Pathar. Sonmarg the “Meadows of Gold” is situated at a distance of 81 km from Srinagar at an altitude of 2,740 m above the sea level. It is among the most beautiful places to go for excursion from Srinagar. Those who love adventure and want to enjoy camping; Sonmarg is the perfect destination for them. This small resort is renowned for its enchanting beauty and snow clad mountain peaks becomes most attractive during the months of spring. The exotic flora of the region is nurtured by the Sindh River. Sonmarg is also a base camp for the holy Amarnath Yatra during which thousands of devotees throng to this place and get mesmerized by its scenic beauty. During a visit to Sonmarg don’t forget to visit Nilagrad , the confluence of rivers with the Indus river. The most striking aspect of this place is that the river water is pure red in color and is believed to have curative powers for skin ailments. Also known as the Valley of Shepherds, Pahalgam is one of the major tourist attraction during the excursion tour from Srinagar. Pahalgam is located at a distance of 45 km from Srinagar on the banks of river Lidder at an altitude of 7,200 ft above the sea level. Pahalgam is not a mere hill station but a recreational resort as well. Pahalgam offer its guests some of the wonderful opportunities to relax and enjoy the lap of Mother Nature. It has some good resorts and hotels for luxurious accommodation of its guests. The major attraction of Pahalgam is trekking to Lidderwat, Kolohoi Glacier, Chandanwari, sheshnag Lake, enjoy picnics at Hajan on a way to Chandanwari. Pahalgam also comprises of a part of the only saffron growing areas of Asia. Pahalgam is also associated with the holy yatra of Amarnath Cave. Situated at a distance of 40 km from Srinagar Charar-e-Sharif is dedicated to Sheikh Noouddin a Sufi Saint. One can access this mosque from Pakistan occupied Kashmir. The wooden shrine is about six centuries old to commemorate the Sufi Saint and is among the major tourist attractions of Srinagar. It is the most revered place for Hindus and Muslims that preaches communal harmony, non violence and secular tolerance.
