Yousmarg: Situated at a distance of 47 km from Srinagar, Yousmarg is a famous picnic spot of Srinagar. The place is renowned for its green pastures ringed by forests of pine and towering snow covered mountains leaves you spellbound. It is a perfect place for nature walks along flower-strewn meadows or towards Dudh Ganga River. It is named due to crashing the mighty river froths over the rocks and formation of white foams. The place is perfect for trekking and enjoying leisure walks.

Charar-E Sharif: About 13 km from Yousmarg is located one of the most revered shrine of Kashmir’s patron saint Sheikh Noor-ud-din or Nund Reshi. The shrine was rebuilt again after the devastating fire of 1994 which had engulfed the entire building. Charar-e-Sharif in Srinagar, the most sacrosanct of the Muslim shrines in India.

Anantnag: Anantnag is a pleasant getaway in Srinagar is renowned due to ample of religious shrines and places of worship. The sacred town even finds its mention in Bhagvad Gita. There are about seven temples in Ananatnag Bhawan Complex dedicated to various Gods and Goddesses, four Dharamshalas and a school. The place attracts number of devotees and is consecrated by Kashmiri Pundit community.

Dachigam National Park: Aprawling across the area of 141 sq km, the Dachigam National Park is located at a distance of 22 km from Srinagar. The vast variations in altitude ranges from 5,500 ft to 14,000 ft clearly demarcated it into two sectors Upper and Lower Dachigam. There is a road from Srinagar to Lower Dachigam but the upper Dachigam can only be reached by foot The park is declared as National Park in 1951 and is a home to some of the endangered species of animals that includes Hangul or the Kashmiri Stag or the species of red deer which is found only here in India. The best time to explore this region is summers and winters. May to August is best suitable to explore upper area while September to December is best suitable for exploring the lower Dachigam.

Aharbal: Gradually the distant rumble becomes a roar as one approach near to the waterfall of Aharbal which is 58 km from Srinagar via Ananatnag. Aharbal is more than just a scenic waterfall. There are various places where one can enjoy picnicsor delightful walks of varying lengths all over the hill side. Trek to high altitude Kounsernag which is located at an altitude of 13,500 ft above the sea level begins from here which makes it a famous destination among the trekkers.

Verinag: Situated at a distance of 80 km from Srinagar at an altitude of 1,876 m , Verinag is believed to be the chief source of river Jhelum. Construction of octagonal base around the spring and the arcade was first started by the Mughal emperor Jahangir and later on completed by his son Shah Jehan. Down the stream to the east lie the remains of Mughal pavilion and baths. The place can be easily reached through the link road which turns off from the national highway at lower Munda.
